Often, travelling photographers in new destinations find it difficult to identify the best localities that offer opportunities for wildlife photography. The difficulty is further compounded by time constraints and the overall pace of a normal travel itenerary. While tourist guides and publications can provide some idea of where to see various species, locating ideal photographic venues is an entirely different proposition.

At the present time, I am thinking about offering a very special tour service for wildlife photographers visiting Australia. Group size would need to be small (a maximum of 10 people) so that the needs of each individual could be catered for, and the tour would move at "photographers speed", in other words, spending sufficient time at each venue to explore and photograph. I would also supply some photographic equipment - a professional flash system for modelled lighting and tripods that you might not normally travel with due to their weight. You might also like to try some novel techniques, for example, photographing bats in flight with high speed flashes.

As I say, this is just a thought at the moment, and so I am interested in hearing from anyone who might be interested in this style of tour. Please email me and let me know what you think. Now is the time to suggest preferred species, the style of accommodation that you might prefer, and so on. If I get enough responses, I will start serious planning and contact you with some firmer plans for 2007.
